How to Install Slingshot Fiber Optic Sight – Full Guide

I. Materials Preparation (Must Bring)----Piaoyu Slingshot

• Fiber Optic Sight Body (with holes/slots)

• Fiber Optic Rod (red/green/yellow, 0.5–1.0mm)

• Lighter (windproof recommended)

• Scissors / Diagonal Pliers

• Small Hex Key (to fit the sight)

• Slingshot Body (with sight mounting holes/slots)

Insert the Fiber

Thread the fiber from the back to the front through the sight holes.
Leave 2–3mm protruding at the front, then cut the fiber at the back so both ends are even in length.
For multi-point sights (3 holes / 4 holes): thread through all holes in sequence, leaving 2–3mm at each hole.

Heat to Form (Create Aiming Dots + Secure Them)

Use the outer flame of a lighter to sweep quickly across the exposed ends of the fiber for 1–2 seconds.
The fiber will automatically shrink upon heating, forming a small round dot / mushroom head that locks securely in place within the hole.
Key point: Heat only, do not ignite; avoid burning it black or breaking it.

Heating the Rear End

Leave 2–3mm of fiber extending from the rear, trim it, and then gently heat it with a quick pass of the flame to form the second aiming dot.

Cooling and Inspection

Allow it to cool for 10 seconds, then check to ensure the fiber is firmly in place and the aiming dots are smooth and well-defined.
